The Lord-Lieutenant

Each county has a Lord-Lieutenant, appointed by His Majesty The King to be his personal representative in the county. As such he or she represents His Majesty at events in the county and is responsible for the preparation of programmes for Royal Visits to Lancashire, for the presentation of awards to organisations (The King's Awards for Enterprise and for Voluntary Service) and to individuals, e.g. the British Empire Medal, as well as advising on Honours Nominations.

The post of Lord-Lieutenant is non-political and is unpaid, and is normally held to the age of 75.

The Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire is: Mrs Amanda Parker JP, appointed in 2023.
