Deputy Lieutenants

Deputy Lieutenants are appointed by the Lord-Lieutenant to assist him in carrying out his role as The King's Representative within the county. They automatically retire at the age of 75, or on moving away from the county.

Deputy Lieutenants also assist with assessments for The King's Award for Voluntary Service, suggesting names for invitation to Royal Garden Parties and presiding at Citizenship Ceremonies.

There are currently over 40 Deputy Lieutenants serving throughout Lancashire
