The Vice Lord Lieutenant is appointed by the Lord Lieutenant, subject to the approval of The King, for a period of years agreed on appointment. The Vice Lord-Lieutenant may be given such duties as the Lord-Lieutenant may from time to time decide and will also stand in the place of the Lord-Lieutenant when he is unavailable.
