Purpose:

The report recommends that the decisions for the disposal of Fulwood and Barrowford Libraries made by the former Deputy Leader of the County Council on 9th March 2017 be rescinded.

 

Additionally, in relation to the following buildings:

  • Fulwood library
  • Freckleton library
  • Barrowford library
  • Earby library
  • Whalley library & Spring Wood Children's Centre
  • Lostock Hall library & Children's Centre

 

It is proposed that the properties be withdrawn from the market for sale.

 

Decision:

Jo Turton, the Chief Executive of Lancashire County Council approved the recommendations as set out in the full report.

 

This decision should be implemented immediately for the purposes of Standing Order 34(3) as any delay could adversely affect the execution of the County Council's responsibilities.
