This report is regarding the disposal of 12 – 14 Nicholas Street, Burnley by private treaty.

County Councillor Geoff Driver, the Leader of the County Council approved the sale of 12 – 14 Nicholas Street, Burnley, to the buyer for the sum identified in the full report. 

This decision should be implemented immediately for the purposes of Standing Order 34(3) as any delay could adversely affect the execution of Lancashire County Council's responsibilities.  The reason for this is that the sale needs to be completed as soon as possible to secure the highest bid following a protracted sales process and avoid ongoing security costs.

The full report is not available for publication as it contains exempt information as defined in Paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972. The report contains information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information). It is considered that in all the circumstances of the case the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.
