Purpose:

This report is regarding the purchase of land in relation to a new bus station in Accrington.

 

This is a Key Decision that has not been included in the Forward Plan.  Standing Order 26 has been complied with.

Decision:

The Leader of the County Council and the Cabinet Member for Highways and Transportation considered and approved a report is regarding the purchase of land in relation to a new bus station in Accrington.

 

This decision should be implemented immediately for the purposes of Standing Order 34(3) as any delay could adversely affect the execution of the County Council's responsibilities.  The reason for this is that the option agreement is time limited and in order to acquire the rest of the land necessary for the scheme the County Council needs to begin formal negotiations with the land owners in order to be in a position to submit the bid for Final Approval for the Pennine Reach project by the end of December 2012.
