Purpose:

On 27th September 2012 the Cabinet Member for Children and Schools approved a consultation on the proposal to make the current split site arrangements at Ashton Community Science College permanent with effect from September 2013.

 

Between 22nd October and 7th December 2012 a stage 1 statutory consultation is being carried out.

 

Following this consultation and consideration of the responses it is intended to seek permission to commence stage 2 of the consultation process, the publication of public notices for this proposal.  The intention is to publish public notices in January/February 2013.

Decision:

County Councillor Susie Charles, the Cabinet Member for Children and Schools:

 

(i)  Noted the consultation arrangements that were undertaken;

(ii)  Noted the responses that were received in respect of the authority’s proposal and officers' comments on the responses; and

(iii)  Requested that a Statutory Notice be published on the proposal to establish permanent split site arrangements for Ashton Community Science College by adding the permanent use of the Ribbleton Campus, which is to be shared with Sir Tom Finney Community High School, with effect from 1 September 2013.
