County Council to Relocate to Lancaster
We, the undersigned, petition the county council to to move the Lancashire County Council HQ from Preston to Lancaster to reaffirm its status as the historic county town of Lancashire and give its economy a boost
Lancaster is a historic town that needs plenty of economic regeneration, jobs and a much higher profile. Moving the County Council would bring many jobs to the city and give it an economic boost whilst raising its profile. Also, with the Heysham Link being built, a lot of traffic will be diverted away from Lancaster. Therefore, such a move would boost community pride. The County Council could use a move as an opportunity to slim down and cut costs by using a smaller premises.
