At its meeting of 15 June 2017, Cabinet resolved to establish
interim management and funding arrangements for the Fleetwood to
Knott End ferry service, pending a review and new long term
arrangements being agreed.
Cabinet further resolved at its meeting of 13 July 2017 to make an addition to its Budget for 2017/18 to retain the Subsidy to Knott End Ferry to ensure continued operation. Of the £0.085m included within the original Amendment it is estimated that £0.100m is required in the current financial year.
Discussions with Wyre Borough Council continue with the
expectation that a new contract will be let with an operator to
enable the Fleetwood to Knott End service to continue in the longer
term.
