The vehicles parked on Morecambe’s Promenade are an
eyesore, especially the articulated lorry units. The local council,
businesses and the people of the district are working hard to
improve Morecambe and having these vehicles parked on the promenade
overnight counters the work being done and the image the Town is
trying to create.
The camper vans in particular are parking for free and taking
income away from the commercial overnight caravan sites where they
should be.
Vehicles parked on the promenade have no access to external power, water, sewage or waste disposal.

Lancaster City Council is proposing to produce a movement strategy
with options for parking and restrictions on Marine Road however,
we are unable to confirm timescales at this time.
Lancashire County Council will be involved with this work and any restrictions for campervans will be considered alongside other proposals including potential development sites in Morecambe.
