As Fylde Road is based in the Uclan area car parking spaces are very limited. As more businesses have opened the current on street car parking outside Subway is always full. Motorists are staying for long periods of time when visiting the current businesses which is leading to motorists double parking along the road, this is making traffic an issue and leaving the road unsafe for other drivers and pedestrians. More car parking spaces will not only benefit the businesses and their customers but also Uclan staff and students as parking for them is also limited.

Thank you for your recent petition to Lancashire County Council about the possibility of increasing the amount of free parking spaces, in the parking bay outside the Subway sandwich shop on Fylde Road, Preston.
We have considered your request and note the number of signatures of support.
We are unable to support your petition at this time. There are major changes to the university area and surrounding roads as a result of the University of Central Lancashire's (UCLan) Masterplan. Once these works are complete we will re-assess Fylde Road and the parking arrangements.
