The zebra crossing is immediately after a bend with a mini roundabout with poor visibility. Either someone is going to get knocked down or there is going to be a RTA (road traffic accident).

Thank you for your e-petition about concerns over the location of the zebra crossing on Chain Lane near to the McColls store in Staining.
To enable us to prioritise which of our communities' roads are appropriate for changes in traffic calming measures, we consider a number of factors including their road safety history. On this basis, we are unable to recommend removing or relocating this zebra crossing at this time.
The recent zebra crossing was installed initially from a Section
278 agreement in relation to the adjacent development that was in
agreement with ourselves. A safety audit was not deemed necessary
due to the stated low number extra vehicle movements. In addition,
the 20mph speed limit and being close to a roundabout would further
reduce traffic speeds at this location.
