Council response

Thank you for submitting a petition to save Longridge library.

Despite our financial situation, we are committed to continuing to provide 34 fully staffed libraries. No decisions have been made yet about the 40 libraries that will close.

We are running two consultation periods so that we can seek the views of Lancashire residents as widely as possible. The first, which lasted four weeks, started on 4 January 2016. The findings from this first period of consultation will be used to inform the future priorities of the service. The next more in depth consultation will last 12 weeks, and will begin in May and end in August. The final decision will be made in September.

You will wish to know that we've fully retained our mobile library service.
