This report sets out a recommendation to
approve the award of contracts for the acceptance and composting of
green waste arising in the administrative county of Lancashire and
Blackpool, following completion of an open tender exercise.
Tenders were invited on the basis of twelve lots, as detailed
below.
1. West Lancashire Borough Council (lot 1).
2. Chorley Borough Council (lot 2).
3. South Ribble Borough Council (lot 3).
4. Preston City Council (lot 4).
5. Fylde Borough Council (lot 5).
6. Wyre Borough Council (lot 6).
7. Lancaster City Council (lot 7).
8. Ribble Valley Borough Council (lot 8).
9. Blackpool Council (lot 9).
10. Household Waste Recycling Centres - North (lot 10).
11. Household Waste Recycling Centres - South (lot 11).
12. Household Waste Recycling Centres - East (lot 12).
The new contracts are required to commence on the 21 November 2016
(or such other date as confirmed by the County Council) and will
expire on the 31 March 2020. There will then be options to extend
on an annual basis up to 31 March 2022.
