Review of Gating Orders 2012 Various Streets in Burnley Borough, Preston City, Fylde Borough and Chorley Borough

To review Gating Orders of various streets in Fylde Borough, Preston City, Chorley Borough and Burnley Borough.

 

For each Order to consider which of the following four options should be taken:

 

  1. To revoke the order and lock the gates open.
  2. To revoke the order and remove the gates completely.
  3. To change the times that the gates are locked.
  4. To leave the order unchanged.

 

The effectiveness of orders is reviewed annually. The effectiveness of the gates is evaluated by comparing the before and after crime statistics. In addition, the comments of the local community are used to assess their popularity and approval.

 

County Councillor Tim Ashton, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, declared a Personal Interest in this matter on the 2 March 2012 and requested that the decision be considered by another Cabinet Member.
