Clitheroe Road
The purpose of the proposal is to extend the No Waiting at Any Time restriction on the east side of Clitheroe Road and introduce a new No Waiting 8am – 6pm restriction on the west side of Clitheroe Road to improve the safety of motorized and non-motorized users at the junction with Station Road/Brookes Lane.
The reason for the proposal is to ensure the safe movement of public transport, protect sightlines and increase visibility by further prohibiting parking within too close a proximity of the junction.
Station Road
The purpose of the proposal is to extend the No Waiting at Any Time restriction on the north side of Station Road to improve the safety of motorized and non-motorized users at the junction with Clitheroe Road/King Street.
The reason for the proposal is to increase visibility by further prohibiting parking within too close a proximity of the junction.
Consultations
Formal consultation was carried out between 6 March-2025 until 3 April-2025 which included advertising in the local press and notices being displayed on site. Divisional county councillors were consulted along with the council's usual consultees and the consultation documents posted on the council's website.
Peter Bell, Highway Regulation Manager, on behalf of the Matt Townsend, Director of Highways and Transport took a decision to approve the proposal is to extend the No Waiting at Any Time restriction on the east side of Clitheroe Road and introduce a new No Waiting 8am – 6pm restriction.
