Purpose:

The purpose of the proposed zebra crossing on Coulston Road is to provide safer road crossing facilities and improve links for pedestrians and cyclists between the proposed residential development and the existing amenities and bus stops on the southern side of Coulston Road.

These proposals are being funded by Section 278 monies by the developer and are linked to the new development.

Consultations
Formal consultation was carried out between 12 September-2024 and 10 October-2024 which included advertising in the local press and notices being displayed on site. Divisional county councillors were consulted along with the council's usual consultees and the consultation documents posted on the council's website.

Objection
Following formal consultation one adverse comment was received regarding the proposed location of the crossing as detailed in appendix 'C'

Decision:

Peter Bell, Regulation and Enforcement Manager, on behalf of the Matt Townsend, Director of Highways and Transport took a decision to approve the proposed zebra crossing on Coulston Road.
