Minutes:

Apologies for absence were received from County Councillors Usman Arif, Peter Britcliffe, Alan Hosker, David Howarth, Terry Hurn, Hasina Khan, Stuart Morris, Lian Pate, David Westley and Phillippa Williamson.

 

County Councillors Loraine Cox, Nweeda Khan, Erica Lewis and Yousuf Motala joined the meeting virtually.

Report of the Employment Committee - Appointment of Chief Executive and Head of Paid Service and County Council's Returning Officer pdf icon PDF 129 KB

Minutes:

County Councillor Alan Vincent moved a report setting out the recommendation of the Employment Committee from its meeting held on 7 February 2025 regarding the appointment to the post of Chief Executive and Head of Paid Service.

 

Resolved: - That:

 

(i)  The recommendation of the Employment Committee, as set out in the report, now presented, be noted and that the appointment of Mark Wynn to the role of Chief Executive and Head of Paid Service, be approved.

(ii)  Approval be given to waive Section 9.5 of the council's Constitution, as set out in the report, now presented, which provides that the Head of Paid Service cannot be the Chief Financial Officer, until an appointment to the role of Chief Financial Officer (S151) is confirmed.

(iii)  The appointment of Mark Wynn as Returning Officer for the election of councillors to the county council, as set out in the report, now presented, be approved.
