Minutes:

The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting.

 

 

2.

Disclosure of Interests

Members are asked to consider whether they need to disclose any pecuniary and non-pecuniary interest in matters appearing on the agenda. If a member requires advice on declarations of interest he/she is advised to contact Josh Mynott, Democratic Services (telephone 01772 534580) in advance of the meeting.

 

 

Minutes:

County Councillor F De Molfetta declared an interest as he received a pension from a Pension Fund  asssociated with one of the candidates.

To be confirmed by the Sub Committee as an accurate record of the meeting and signed by the Chair.

Minutes:

It was noted that after consulting the members of the Sub Committee arrangements had been made for one of the five candidates shortlisted at the last meeting to be interviewed on an alternative date.

 

Resolved: That the Minutes of the meeting held on 29th April 2024 are confirmed as an accurate record and signed by the Chair.

Date of Next Meeting

If required it is proposed that arrangements me made for a further meeting of the Sub-Committee to be held on the 16th May 2024 in meeting Room CHG09 at County Hall, Preston.

Minutes:

Resolved: That a further meeting of the Sub Committee be held at 2.45pm on 16th May 2024 in Exchange Room 7 at County Hall, Preston, to interview a single candidate.

5.

Exclusion of the Press and Public

The Sub Committee is asked to consider whether, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, it considers that the press and public should be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business on the grounds that there would be a likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in the appropriate paragraph of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act, 1972, as indicated against the heading to the item.

Resolved: That the press and public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following item of business on the grounds that there would be a likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act, 1972.

 

6.

Appointment of Independent Investment Adviser - Interviews

Minutes:

Exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972. It was considered that in all the circumstances of the case the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighed the public interest in disclosing the information.

 

In accordance with the process/timings agreed at the meeting on 29th April 2024 the Sub Committee interviewed four shortlisted applicants for the position of Independent Investment Adviser, supported by the Head of Fund and Mr Lane, Investment Consultant from the Fund's Actuary - Mercers.

 

Resolved: That, having interviewed the four candidates referred to in the report presented, the Sub-Committee defer making a final decision on the appointment of an Independent Investment Adviser to allow a fifth candidate to be interviewed on 16th May 2024.
