Description

The Chairman is appointed at the Annual General Meeting of the Full Council held in May and is held for a period of one year. The Chairman role is held by councillors and is non-political.

The Chairman would be the most appropriate person to represent the county council, by invitation, at ceremonial events to undertake ceremonial duties, such as the cutting of a ribbon.

At events hosted by the county council such as conferences and seminars, the Chairman would normally be invited to welcome delegates.

If you would like to invite the Chairman to a ceremonial event, please email: civic@lancashire.gov.uk.

The current Chairman is County Councillor Alan Cullens BEM, appointed at Full Council on Friday 15 September 2023. You can view more information about the Chairman and the recent activities undertaken by viewing our Chairman's page.
