On 12 July 2009, the former Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee agreed to re-establish the task group to consider the issue of speed restrictions outside schools.
A further report of the task group was presented to the former Sustainable Development Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 19 May 2010. In supporting the recommendations of the task group, the Committee agreed that the Cabinet Members for Highways and Transport; for Children and Schools and for Young People be asked to consider the recommendations of the task group and respond to scrutiny in due course.
On 12 November 2010, the Scrutiny Committee received the Executive response to the recommendations of the task group. The report was noted.
