Purpose:

Blaze is a youth led Arts project run by LCC's Libraries, Museums, Culture and Registration Service and Officers have looked at the best way of helping to sustain the activity in the future.  It is proposed to make a provisional one-off payment from the 2015/16 Libraries, Museums, Culture and Registrars budget to help Blaze transition to a sustainable future without Lancashire County Council funding.

 

Decisions:

The Committee considered a report on the future of the Blaze young people's arts and culture project. 

 

It was proposed that a sum of £10,000 from the Libraries, Museums, Culture and Registrars budget for 2015/16 be allocated to Curious Minds as a one off payment to help the Blaze project's transition to a sustainable future without  County Council funding.

 

Resolved:  That the recommendations set out in the report to the Cabinet Member for Environment, Planning and Cultural Services be noted, and that no additional comments or alternative recommendations be made.
