Approval to Award Contracts for Care and Support Services in Lancashire Prisons

Purpose:

In line with the Care Act 2014, Lancashire County Council is responsible for delivering social care in prisons. Earlier this year the County Council entered into a partnership with NHS England to conduct a joint procurement exercise (led by NHS England) and this report sets out the results of this procurement. This report is seeking approval to enter into a section 75 agreement with NHS England to establish these services and following the procurement to approve the social care provision being included in the contracts to be awarded.

 

This is deemed to be a Key Decision and the provisions of Standing Order No 25 have been complied with.

Resolved: - That the recommendations set out in the report to the Cabinet Member for Adult and Community Services be noted and that no additional comments or suggested alternative recommendations be made.
