The Committee considered a report on the adoption of a new Shared Parental Leave Policy.
It was reported that Shared Parental Leave Regulations 2014 had come into force. The Regulations enabled mothers, fathers, partners and adopters to choose how to share statutory time off work after a child had been born or placed for adoption.
The County Council was required to agree and publish a policy to set out its provision in respect of shared parental leave and pay. A draft policy was presented at Appendix 'A'.
