This report sets out a proposal to introduce a 50 miles per hour speed limit, 40 miles per hour speed limit, restricted road (30 miles per hour speed limit will apply) and associated revocations at A678 Blackburn Road, Rishton and to introduce a 50 miles per hour speed limit at A679 Blackburn Road, Oswaldtwistle.
The proposals have been advertised in the local press and no objections have been received.
This is deemed to be a Key Decision and the provisions of Standing Order No. 25 have been complied with.
County Councillor John Fillis, the Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport approved the making of a Speed Limit Order which introduces 50mph speed limit, 40mph speed limit and 30mph restricted road status on A678 Blackburn Road in Rishton and the 50mph speed limit along a length of the A679 Blackburn Road, Oswaldtwistle (and associated revocations) as set out in the schedule attached at Appendix 'A' and is shown on the plans at Appendices 'B' and 'C'.
