A Proposal to Retender Payroll Services for Direct Payment Recipients

Decision Maker: Cabinet Member for Adult and Community Services

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Purpose:

A proposal to retender the contract for Payroll Services for Direct Payment recipients for 12 months from 5 April 2014 with the option to extend for a further two years (one year at a time). The current contract with Cheshire Centre for Independent Living is due to cease on 4 April 2014 and cannot be extended. An options appraisal has been completed looking at how best to fund payroll services for Direct Payment Recipients.  Further investigation is needed to assess the viability of Direct Payment recipients paying for their own pay roll service longer term. By retendering the contract we can give appropriate time to complete a robust consultation with stakeholders and develop a strong business case to inform the most appropriate way forward.

Decision:

County Councillor Tony Martin, the Cabinet Member for Adult and Community Services approved the recommendations set out in the report.

The full report is not available for publication as it contains exempt information as defined in Paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972. The report contains information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information). It is considered that in all the circumstances of the case the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.
