Issue - meetings

A report was considered on arrangements covering routine and special maintenance of highways that cross the boundary between the County council and Blackpool. It was noted that an informal agreement had been in place since 1998, and discussions have taken place between Officers to revisit the informal agreement with a view to establishing further efficiencies.

Resolved: That

  i.  a S8 of the Highways Act (1980) agreement be entered into with Blackpool Council in terms substantially similar to the draft agreement attached at Appendix 'A'.

  ii.  the Head of Service for Asset Management be authorised to negotiate the terms of the agreement.

  iii.  a further report come to a future meeting for Cabinet to approve the final agreement.
