The key decision was
made in December 2012 regarding the Central Preston Accommodation
Review agreed a rationalisation of the County Council's office
accommodation in Preston. As part of the review a decision was made
to vacate a number of buildings including 58-60 Guildhall Street
with the services re-located to alternative properties within the
portfolio.
Since 2011 the offices have been used to temporarily accommodate
various decanted teams of staff from other properties while the
offices in central Preston which were to be retained were altered /
upgraded. The Youth Offending Team (YOT) were moved to Guildhall St
when their accommodation in Corporation Street was sold in
2015.
58-60 Guildhall Street is
now subject to a revised offer for disposal and vacation of the
property is underway.
The Youth Offending Team have particular requirements and a
suitable alternative for service delivery within Preston has been
sought for a significant amount of time. The Marsh Lane office has
been identified as an appropriate location for the service.
This report seeks approval for suitability and condition works to
the premises in order to re-locate the YOT (Preston and South team)
to the Marsh Lane offices.
