Decision details

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (LANCASTER ROAD, KNOTT END-ON-SEA, WYRE BOROUGH) (PEDESTRIAN CROSSING)

Decision Maker: Director of Highways and Transport

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Purpose:

Consultation was carried out from 06/12/2023 to 03/01/2024 with no objections being received.

A controlled crossing is proposed to increase the safety of pedestrians (particularly vulnerable young children or less mobile elderly pedestrians) crossing the carriageway.

The crossing is proposed within close proximity to the nearby local amenities and places of worship because of the subsequent increase in the number of pedestrians wishing to cross the carriageway at this location.

It is positioned at the optimum desire line but at a safe distance from conflicting traffic movements of the Hackensall Road junction.

Decision:

Peter Bell, Regulation and Enforcement Manager, approved the decision set out in the report.
