Decommissioning of Dispersed Accommodation Support Service in Preston

Purpose:

A decision is being sought to decommission a Lancashire County Council funded dispersed visiting support service provided across the Preston area.

 

Following a period of consultation the proposal is to cease funding by mutual agreement on 29 November 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter.

 

It is proposed to de-commission the service for the following reasons:-

 

  • Delivery of budget savings
  • Alternative support services are available

 

Decision:

The Cabinet Member for Adult and Community Services approved the decommissioning of the service and the implementation of the decision immediately, in order to facilitate the ending of the service on 29 November 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter.

 

This decision should be implemented immediately for the purposes of Standing Order 34(3) as any delay could adversely affect the execution of the County Council's responsibilities.
