Additional Budget 2023 Highways Maintenance and Pothole Repair Funding, 2023 to 2024 PDF 257 KB Minutes: Cabinet considered a report on additional funding for highways maintenance and pothole repair during 2023 to 2024. It was noted that in the Chancellor of the Exchequer's Spring Budget 2023, an additional £200 million for highways maintenance for the financial year 2023/24 was announced of which £5.122m had been made available for Lancashire. The report focused on urgent decisions relating to surface dressing and preventative find and fix which needed to be approved for inclusion in contracts and delivery during the summer months.

Lancashire Local Nature Recovery Strategy PDF 269 KB Minutes: Cabinet considered a report on the Lancashire Local Nature Recovery Strategy. It was noted that Local Nature Recovery Strategies were a new England-wide system of spatial strategies introduced by the Environment Act 2021. The Environment Act required the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to formally appoint a Responsible Authority to lead the preparation of a Local Nature Recovery Strategy for an area. Lancashire had been designated as an area for the preparation of a Local Nature Recovery Strategy and the county council had been asked to take on the role of the Responsible Authority.
